My Priorities and Accomplishments

Fiscal Sustainability and Responsibility

  • As the longest serving member of the Finance Committee, I negotiated and passed budgets focusing on safety, equity, and a thriving COMMUNITY.

  • I have set a goal and have prioritized funding to have at least 2 police officers on duty 24/7 in Newcastle.

Ensuring Community Collaboration

  • I have promoted COLLABORATION and encouraged new voices to enrich conversations and solve problems.

  • I have proven my ability to make difficult decisions in the best interest of the city.

  • I have built relationships with neighboring cities and State Legislators, bringing grant money to Newcastle:

    • $60,000 to repair the Lake Boren Fishing Dock

    • $89,100 for Historic Cemetery Fence & Improvements

    • $824,000 to complete the Cross Town Trail

Maintaining and Improving City Infrastructure

  • I have advocated for every neighborhood to benefit equally from our infrastructure dollars.

  • I will continue to ensure our tax dollars are spent efficiently and effectively.

  • I have shown my COMMITMENT to protecting our trails, parks, and green spaces to enhance our quality of life.
